BRINYTE has recently released the new PT16, an updated version of the Brinyte PT18, an extremely bright flashlight with a long-range beam. The PT16 features a Luminous SFT40 CW LED with a maximum brightness output of 2000 lumens and 4 main brightness levels, in addition to the special Strobe and SOS modes. With this LED, the PT16 achieves a maximum beam distance of 608 meters (19944 feet).
It is equipped with Type-C charging and powered by a 21700 format 5000mAh battery (included in the sales package) with a maximum runtime of 16800 minutes. The PT16 has two tail switches and one side switch for complete user interface management, supporting touch-to-turbo and touch-to-strobe functions.
The Brinyte PT16 maintains compact dimensions and comes with a clip and tactical ring for better portability. It has reverse polarity protection and is IP68 certified (submersible up to 2 meters) with a 1-meter impact resistance.
The Brinyte PT16 is particularly suitable for various needs, including tactical military and police use, hunting, emergency lighting, industrial inspections, camping, hiking, etc.

Dimensions and Weight

Weight: 152g, 5.36oz (excluding battery), 225g (with battery, clip, and tactical ring)
The steel clip, inserted under the tactical ring, remains securely in place and allows easy insertion of the PT16 into jeans. It is possible to attach a lanyard to the clip if needed.
In my Outdoor Kit, the premium version holster and BR Tactical Ring are also included.
The premium holster is made of semi-rigid Cordura with a Velcro closure. It has circular openings at the bottom and top that allow the tail to protrude, enabling the use of the flashlight while inserted. On the sides, there are two small elastic pockets for inserting a battery. The rear attachment system is noteworthy, consisting of rigid and 360-degree rotatable plastic, allowing the flashlight to be attached to the belt. This system, which allows adjusting the holster angle in 12 positions, facilitates use even in a seated position. Although large, the holster is very robust.
The BR Tactical Ring, matching the color of the flashlight, once inserted into the PT16 tail, allows using the flashlight with the index finger inserted, improving tactical grip and significantly increasing speed during operations, including drawing the flashlight. Once inserted into the tail cap, it remains securely in place thanks to the O-ring at the base of the cap. The pointed shape of the BR Tactical Ring also makes it a useful self-defense tool.
The Brinyte PT16 has excellent build quality; good thickness and rounded edges provide a comfortable grip despite its length of 159mm. The design features horizontal anti-slip grooves on the body and vertical ones on the head. There are also cooling fins on the bottom.
Brinyte PT16 is constructed from military-type hard-anodized aluminum alloy. The markings on the flashlight are well-made and readable, clearly indicating that my unit is not for sale.
On the head of the Brinyte PT16, there is a smooth SMO (smooth) reflector with the Luminus SFT40 CW LED in the center. The dark-colored bezel protects the PT16 glass, being slightly crenulated and protruding. The lens with anti-reflective coating is good.
Brinyte PT16 Pro has a side switch and two tail switches.
The electronic side switch has a status LED in the center, is made of metal, slightly raised, and has good touch sensitivity, producing a silent click. The LED provides information about the remaining charge level and the battery's charging status. Once the PT16 is turned on, the LED lights up for five seconds to indicate:
• Green: Charge equal to or higher than 70%
• Orange: Charge between 70% and 30%
• Red: Charge equal to or lower than 30%
• Flashing Red: Charge equal to or lower than 10%
With the side switch, complete UI (user interface) management is possible.
Moving on to the two tail switches, they are of different sizes and both made of rubber. The round-shaped switch serves as ON/OFF and Momentary-On for Turbo, while the oval-shaped one, with the flashlight off, provides direct access to Strobe or, with the flashlight on, allows level changes and access to Strobe.
Under the projector, on the opposite side of the side switch, there is the USB-C charging port protected by a thin rubber flap. As clearly stated in the specifications, the internal charging port is waterproof, being sealed and thus resistant to water and dust.
In my tests, the battery was fully charged in about 5 hours with a maximum charging current of 2A.
Charge indication:
Charging. The red light is steady.
Fully charged. The green light is steady.
Charging exception: the orange light is on.
Note: during the charging process or when the charge is complete and not interrupted, the flashlight can only enter LOW mode and can only switch from low to medium when changing modes.
The battery, included in the package, is a 5000mAh Lithium 21700. One of the many advantages of Brinyte PT16 is that it also works with 21700 batteries from other manufacturers, both top and flat, protected or unprotected.
The only unscrewable part of the PT16 is the tail cap. Gold-plated springs are present on the negative and positive poles, allowing excellent contact with the battery for optimal current flow. The threads on the flashlight body, which has a double chamber, are not anodized. An O-ring is also noticeable for dust and liquid protection. Brinyte PT16 is IP68 certified.
Slightly unscrewing the tail cap locks the tail switches while the side switch will continue to turn on the flashlight if not locked earlier.

CONCLUSION:
Brinyte PT16 is a powerful and versatile tactical flashlight, thanks to its three switches. It is undoubtedly one of the best tactical flashlights I have tested in recent years. The management of available brightness levels is excellent, and the construction appears impeccable. My Outdoor kit package comes complete with everything needed to use the PT16 safely, including a "premium" holster, a clip, and the BR Tactical Ring.
As for areas for improvement, I would mention the battery charging, which may be a bit slow, and the absence of an Ultralow level at 1 lumen.
A TOP product. Highly recommended.
